Oscar Ramírez is a Mexican journalist from Tijuana, Baja California, graduated in Communication and radio announcer.
Recognized for his experience in international migration issues, he has traveled and documented all the borders of northern Mexico with the United States. In the south of the country, he has walked and registered more than 12 migrant caravans, in addition to documenting the route of the Central American Triangle and crossing the dangerous Darién jungle on four occasions, between Panama and Colombia - one of the deadliest routes in the world for migrants.
As a war correspondent, he has covered international conflicts in Ukraine (border with Russia) and in the Middle East, reporting from Israel with the borders of Gaza, Lebanon and Syria.
Currently, Oscar Ramírez works as a bilingual correspondent for various media and is part of the international team of Real America's Voice News, a recognized media in the United States.
In 2023, he was awarded at the Congress of Colombia with the Diana Turbay Award, one of the most important journalistic recognitions in the country, for its coverage and documentation of the migratory route through the Darién jungle.
Beyond his informative work, Oscar Ramírez has distinguished himself for his humanitarian journalism, focused on giving voice and face to the stories of migrants and communities affected by violence and international conflicts.

White slabs.- Migration through the dangerous Darien jungle continues in an exacerbated manner. Migrants continue to risk their lives and continue to trust that organized crime and the cartel can take them safely through this dangerous and inhospitable place.
One of the migrations that has recently surprised the United States is the migration from China, these have totally changed the value market for organized crime, where migrants from this entity pay incredible amounts to facilitate the route into the jungle in easy places, even taking them to the border with the United States.
In past visits we have made to migrant camps, it can be seen that small merchants already have a description of the food menu in Mandarin and there are also banners or signs with the language in Mandarin.
Migrants from China have explained that they are fleeing persecution from the tyrannical government of current president Xi Xin Pin. Meanwhile, in the San Vicente camp, it can be seen that there is a wide variety of migrants from the state of China of military age, but there are also migrants from this state who come in family groups.
Today, the Lajas Blancas camp, one of the epicenters leaving the Darien jungle, registers around 1,500 to 2,000 people daily. Talking with the migrants, they have given us testimony that the numbers they have seen leaving from the parts of Capurganá Colombia to enter the Panamanian jungle range between 1000 to 1200 migrants daily who put their lives in the hands of organized crime.
The institution of the national border service of Panama has been the only one on the continent that has placed its emphasis on combating criminal cells within the jungle in conjunction with human trafficking and also sending a clear message to migrants that “Darién No It is a route.”
