Mexican Sergio Pérez rescued a point in the Singapore Grand Prix, finishing 15th in Saturday’s practice, while in qualifying he has suffered since Q1 when he was in danger of being eliminated halfway through the session. In the end, the Red Bull member managed to make the cut within the top 10.
The Mexican finished the qualifying for the Singapore Grand Prix in 13th place and it seems he will have to work even harder in the race if he wants to aspire to a better position.
Checo Pérez commented that qualifying was “a nightmare” since he was never able to find balance in his car. Therefore, he had problems from Q1 onwards although he had had a hopeful start.
“In Q1 I had very good progress, everything was going very well, I felt comfortable. With the car I made a mistake in turn 13, I went straight, I lost two, three tenths. In Q2 everything was much more complicated. We couldn’t get into the rear tyre window and the two laps I did were quite complicated. I changed a little touch on the differential and it transformed the crash. Also everything seemed to be at the limit with the tyres. Checo Pérez said.
