80% of Venezuelan migrants in Colombia plan to stay in the country until 2025

According to the Dane’s Pulso de la Migración survey, almost 50% of those surveyed said they will stay for better living conditions.

The National Administrative Department of Statistics, Dane, presented this Thursday the results of the most recent Pulso de la Migración survey, which offers a look at the prospects for Venezuelan migration.

According to the results of this survey, 80.6% of Venezuelan migrants plan to stay in the country in the next year, a response that contrasts with 3.6%, the percentage of citizens who intend to return to their country of origin.

On the other hand, it is worth highlighting that 14.1% of Venezuelan citizens are still considering it, while 1.5% hope to move to another country.

Among the main reasons for staying in the country, 49% of Venezuelan citizens view the socioeconomic conditions they have in Colombia with optimism; while another 17.7% will do so because they are already settled on Colombian soil.

In addition, another 17.1% said they will remain in the country due to the socioeconomic conditions that Venezuela is experiencing.
