Unknown individuals abandoned a backpack with a human skull on Friday on the esplanade of the Museum of Mexican History in Monterrey, the largest city in northern Mexico.

A human skull on the esplanade of the Museum of Mexican History, located in Monterrey, Nuevo León, which caused a strong mobilization by the authorities. Agents of the State Agency of Investigations (AEI) and municipal police of Monterrey went to the place and arrested two people, who are being investigated.

The discovery caused a commotion in the second most populated city in the country, due to the proximity of the museum to key tourist spots such as the Macroplaza, the Government Palace and the Paseo Santa Lucía. Although the police confirmed the arrest of two men, it has not yet been determined if they are responsible for the abandonment of the remains.

It was revealed that the detainees are construction workers, originally from Guerrero and Chiapas, who are under investigation.
