Coyote captured in Guatemala transporting 13 Venezuelan migrants across the border with Mexico

The Guatemalan National Civil Police (PNC) reported on Monday, October 14, the capture of an alleged coyote who was transporting 17 migrants of various nationalities, including 13 Venezuelans, on a bus.
Officers from the 42nd Police Station captured a man identified as Hugo N, 38 years old, the bus driver, when he was traveling on the route to Pajapita, San Marcos.
In addition to the 13 Venezuelan migrants, the transport unit also included 3 Salvadorans and 1 Ecuadorian who entered the country illegally and were headed to the border between Guatemala and Mexico.
The detainee was placed at the disposal of a court and the 17 people, after being assisted, were transferred to a branch of the Guatemalan Migration Institute (IGM).
