Thousands of documents were cancelled by the Registry Office, as well as the registrar of La Paz in Cesar, who will be prosecuted for the crimes of conspiracy to commit crimes, migrant trafficking and falsification of public and private documents.

The Technical Investigation Corps of the Attorney General’s Office, Military Gaula and Migration Colombia, carried out an operation on the morning of Monday, September 23 in the municipalities of Valledupar and Pereira, where they captured seven people, who would be part of an organized criminal group called ‘Granada’.

According to other national agencies, they managed to fraudulently obtain that the detainees were allegedly in charge of trafficking immigrants and were involved in Colombian nationality for Dominicans and Venezuelans, in the falsification of public and private documents such as using falsified civil records, adulterated documents, “citizenship cards and passports.” explained Migration of Colombia.

It was learned that nine people were arrested for processing false documents to facilitate their movement to countries in North America and Europe.

Faced with this situation, the Registry Office called on Colombians who are willing to be witnesses in the registration of the birth certificates of said foreigners, emphasizing that this action is considered a crime. “We must tell them that they are committing a crime that can lead them to jail. In addition, they are doing serious damage to the Colombian State,” they indicated through a press release.

Those arrested will be prosecuted for the crimes of conspiracy to commit a crime, migrant trafficking and falsification of public and private documents.
