Israeli ambassador says Hezbollah has bases in Venezuela, Bolivia and Nicaragua

The Israeli ambassador in Costa Rica said that it was “common” for Managua to find this type of installation.

The terrorist organization Hezbollah and other radical Iranian groups have bases in Bolivia, Nicaragua and Venezuela, according to the Israeli diplomat, in dialogue with Nicaraguan media working from exile.

“I can say that there are also other countries in the region that have bases of Iran and Hezbollah, and particularly Venezuela and Bolivia.”

She pointed out that the Israeli intelligence services have helped many countries in the region to intercept and prevent the activities of groups that respond to Tehran, citing Argentina, Brazil, Colombia, Peru and Mexico as examples, countries to which Israel has provided assistance in the last year.

Regarding Argentina, the official recalled the terrorist attacks suffered in the 90s, and stated that Israeli intelligence clearly knows that they were handled from the Iranian Embassy in Buenos Aires.

She also referred to the links between terrorism and organized crime, stating that there is very close cooperation between terrorist groups and criminal organizations throughout the world.

“They cooperate very fluidly. In fact, it is not generally known when organized crime ends and when terrorism begins, because many of these terrorist groups are very, very involved in organized crime.”

In this line, the representative of Jerusalem in San José highlighted that Hezbollah is one of the main drug traffickers in the Middle East, since this allows it to obtain a large source of financing for its activities.

Finally, the Ambassador pointed out that Israel has invited the democratic countries of the region, which want to preserve their freedom and rule of law, to strengthen ties to confront this type of threats. In this sense, she warned that the Ortega regime in Nicaragua chose Iran as an ally despite the fact that the latter is the largest promoter of terrorism in the world.

He said that he maintains close cooperation with the United States in Latin America, “we share information,” but he said that he cannot provide more information about the nature of these exchanges.

Due to the same impediment to providing more information, he said that he cannot give details about Hezbollah’s operations on the continent.
