Tijuana.- Around 7 in the morning it was reported that a group of about 50 migrants were between the limitations of both walls in North American lands. This event took place at the heights of the international avenue in front of the junction towards the El Soler neighborhood in front of the well-known El Mirador hotel.
The migrants, mostly from the state of Brazil and Colombia, entered irregularly through the border wall in order to request asylum and refuge from the American authorities.
Alex is a migrant from Brazil who was waiting for the American authorities.
“It is a huge feeling and we are looking to have our dreams, my family and I flew to get here, at no time did we suffer corruption by any authority, we are very happy to have finally arrived.”
Melissa is a migrant from Colombia who arrived with her two children and her husband, and she told us about this before turning herself in. About the dangers that migrants face in order to get to this point.
“We have flown from Colombia to Tijuana, they brought us to this place, I am fleeing because of extortion and violence, it took us 5 days to get here, in which time the children are very hungry and thirsty, all the migrants who risk their lives, please get advice and do not take revenge irregularly with strangers”:
Around 12 noon a border patrol arrived telling them to follow them to the bottom of the canyon so they could be assisted in their requests.
The migrants waited around 5 hours to be assisted. The wave of migrants on the northern borders of the state of Baja California has been very noticeable, especially in Algodones Baja California and now in the city of Tijuana.
