Perú expulsa alias “Barbas”, sicario del Tren de Aragua: Chile lo juzgará

Venezuelan citizen Ángel García Hernández was expelled from Peru by air on Thursday to Chile, where authorities attribute to him the murder of five people and for allegedly being a member of the criminal organization Tren de Aragua, the Ministry of the Interior reported.

Ángel Ramón García Hernández, 33 years old and considered by the police to be a member of the transnational organization Tren de Aragua, was handcuffed and wearing a red suit with the word “detained.”

“He has regular immigration records of entry in 2018, but many people outside the law leave irregularly to commit crimes in other countries and enter again without having registered,” said General Marco Conde, director of criminal investigation for the Peruvian police.

«From the Police Aviation Directorate, the hitman Ángel García Hernández, belonging to the criminal organization ‘Tren de Aragua’ is expelled to Chile, after being captured by the National Police,» the Peruvian ministry indicated on its account on the social network X.

Along with a video of García boarding a police ship, the ministry added that the expelled man had a red alert issued by Interpol, an international order used to request preventive detention with a view to extradition, after being accused of committing five murders.

The Criminal Investigation Directorate (Dirincri) of the Peruvian Police «followed his steps and put him behind bars,» added the official source.

García was prohibited from entering Peru for a period of 15 years.

The head of homicides, Colonel Ricardo Espinoza, told the press on Wednesday that photographs of the Venezuelan with firearms, abundant Chilean peso bills and at least one video were found on his cell phone showing an alleged contract killing of a person that had been committed in Chile.

The murder of the five people, four Venezuelans and one Dominican, occurred on July 16 during a party and shocked Chile.

Chilean President Gabriel Boric then indicated that his administration was working to “clip the wings of organized crime, following the money trail, confiscating its assets and dealing different blows and recovering public or private spaces that have been taken over by these gangs.”
